Atlanta Christmas 2016

We drove to Atlanta the day after Christmas to visit Josh's family. The ride was very long and uncomfortable for me but after making a few stops we made it there Monday night around 8. We opened presents and took a few pictures.

Chloe's band is marching in the New Year's parade in London so we took her to the airport the next day.

On Wednesday we drove into the city and ate at the Varsity and walked around Olympic Park. Then Matt and Charity met up with us and we went to the Coke Museum.

We drove back on Thursday and of course stopped again at Cane's! :)

We stopped at Ikea and got a few things for the nursery and garage and finally made it back home Thursday night. We don't know when we'll be back with the baby on the way now, so we're glad we were able to make the trip now.

Our Georgia Bryant Christmas

This past summer Josh's parents and two sisters moved to Snellville, Georgia - a town northeast of Atlanta. We left around noon the day after Christmas and drove most of the day to visit. We stopped a couple of times and of course had to stop at Josh's favorite place from college, Canes.

We made it to their house a little after 8:00 and after getting all of our stuff inside we opened presents.

On Sunday, we went to church and then had a pretty low key day. On Monday, we planned to go into the city. Josh, Matt, and I went to Del Taco for lunch. We've only ever been there once, when we were in San Diego, they don't have them in North Carolina. Then we went to Atlanta to go to the Aquarium.

After we had been in line at the Aquarium for a while, I looked over toward the Coke building and saw a box sitting on bench that I recognized. It was a Jane Drop box from Very Jane that I had seen on Instagram many times. The website is a boutique deal site and they leave these boxes all over, filled with some of the great merchandise they sell and then leave a picture and riddle on Instagram. When I noticed the box I checked Instagram and saw it had just been set up there about 10 minutes before so Josh, Matt, and I ran over and met a couple there from Jane. They told me I could take the box home and it was SO EXCITING!!!

After finding the box we got tickets for the Aquarium and then had time to walk around and see some of downtown. We went to the CNN building and walked/ran through the Olympic Park in the rain.

The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world and it was so cool to see their huge whale shark tank! My other favorite part was the dolphin show, which we couldn't take pictures of, but it was so cool!

We left the Aquarium and took a van cab to the Hard Rock Cafe and had a great dinner.

After a flat tire fiasco, we got going pretty late in the day on Tuesday, but we had a really good trip overall. I'm glad we finally got to see their new house!

XOXO

The Move to Atlanta

We found out at the beginning of this year that my father-in-law's company was closing their Roanoke branch and relocating everyone to Atlanta. After many months of talking and planning Josh's parents and 2 sisters moved down there at the end of July.
Before they left, we went up to visit one last time the weekend of July 4th and took these pictures in front of their house. This will be the only house that Josh's whole family will ever live in together. They moved there a few months before Josh's little sister Chloe was born. (Even I lived there for 2 months after Josh and I got married.)

(Josh's sister Charity was in Korea for 6 weeks before they moved so she was not in these pictures.)
The weekend they moved down to Atlanta they stopped by our apartment. Matt ended up staying with us for the weekend but the rest of the family just came by for a pit stop. We snapped some family pictures which will be the last ones for a while.

We miss them already :(
