Our Day Trip to Roanoke

The day after Christmas we drove up to Roanoke to see Josh's Grams and Granddaddy. Grams cooked everyone lunch and we visited for a while and then we went to The Hotel Roanoke to see their tree display that they have every December. Josh and I have gone almost every year since before we were married and it was so fun to have Luke with us. He loves Christmas trees.

After the Hotel we went back to Grams and Granddaddy's house. Luke loved Grams' bear that says The Night Before Christmas. At the end of the day we met up with some family friends and went to Three Li'l Pigs BBQ for dinner. Josh and I stopped at our favorite coffee place and then headed home.

This brought an end to our Christmas activities and traveling. What a great first Christmas we've had with Luke. :)

XOXO

Granddaddy's 84th Birthday

We went up to Roanoke last weekend for Josh's Granddaddy's 84th Birthday party. Josh's mom came up from Georgia and Matt came in from Lynchburg. We got to see baby Lucas again and see baby Josie for the first time! It was a great day with family!

Luke was obsessed with Lucas' sock and Lucas just loved Luke's head.

Father's Day Weekend

The Friday before Father's Day Josh's family (minus Charity) came up and stayed with us for the night. On Saturday, Keith went to Lynchburg and the rest of us went to Roanoke to see Josh's grandparents. Grams and Grandaddy got to see Luke for the second time and we got to see Jeff, Courtney, Julia, and Lucas (for the first time).

Saturday night we drove back to Kernersville with Matt and Chloe. On Sunday morning we went to church and Josh won "Newest Dad." My parents, Josh, Luke, and I met up with Josh's family and all had lunch together at Camel City BBQ in Winston. After lunch Josh's family headed back to Atlanta and we went to my parents' house to have dinner with Rebekah and Zac at East Coast.

I'm glad we got to spend Josh's first Father's Day with both of our families, just like we did on Mother's Day. It was a good weekend and I'm glad Luke got to be around all of the special people in his life.

A Day Trip to Roanoke

Josh's parents and sisters moved to Atlanta in the summer of 2015 and since then we have really missed spending time in Roanoke. We still go up when we can to visit his grandparents and other family and we really wanted to get up there around Christmas to continue traditions Josh has had since he was little. My parents came with us and we met Josh's grandparents downtown for lunch and then went shopping. We went to the Hotel Roanoke to look at the Christmas trees and then went up to the star.

For dinner we went to Three Little Pigs and then to Mill Mountain Coffee. On our way out of town we stopped by his grandparents house to say goodbye and set up Grams' new Christmas present. We had a great day and decided we will have to continue to do this every year!
