Our Eleventh Month with Luke

February 3rd, 2018 - March 3rd, 2018

- Mimi got him a small Mickey toy that clicks into a small red car. This tiny Mickey became his favorite toy. He sleeps with it and loves to hold it all the time.

- He loves the cats so much and this month he said "kitty"!

- We went to Zaxby's one night and gave Luke some toast and he LOVED it. Now we order a basket of toast when we go!

- He started waving regularly and says hi and bye! Some of the time he smiles so big and loves to wave.

- Changing his diapers and clothes is the worst thing in the world to him. It's a good life. ;) He also doesn't like getting in his car seat but most of the time we can distract him with toys.

- There were some warm days in the 60s and 70s during February so I took him to the park to swing for the first time. He loved it so much. Since then we've gone several times when the weather is nice.

- He has still been pulling up on everything and he loves to walk with his red wagon or lion toy walker.

- We finally got a playpen and it is such a lifesaver. He can pull himself up on the sides and walk around or crawl and play safely.

- We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for Josh's birthday and Mimi and Poppy gave Luke some of their burgers and he loved them! He also really liked my sour cherry limeade! He also got some cake on Daddy's birthday which was so fun!

- We took him on his first trip to IKEA and got him a big stuffed basketball that he wouldn't put down. :)

LESS THAN A MONTH UNTIL HE IS A YEAR OLD. TIME PLEASE SLOW DOWN.

Our Tenth Month with Luke

January 3rd, 2018 - February 3rd, 2018

- Sometime this month he switched to crawling only.

- He waved and said "bye-bye"!

- He started pulling up on everything, all the time!

- He did not like mangos (baby food)! But he started eating lots of table food. He loves ice cream (oops) and now he also loves bananas! I guess it just took him a while to get used to them.

- We gave him his first bath in the tub and he LOVED it so much!! He just had a surprised happy face the whole time.

- Josh got home from work one day and I said "Daddy's home!" and Luke started looking around everywhere. When Josh walked in the room Luke said "Dah - dee"!!! :) :) :)

- My parents got a small Mickey toy at their house and he would not leave it there. He brought it home and would not let it go and woke up with it the next morning.

- He has FOUR teeth that are about to come in! AH!


We love him so much! Less than 2 months until he is ONE!!! I can't take it.

Our Ninth Month with Luke

December 3rd, 2017 - January 3rd, 2017

What a happy month with Luke's FIRST CHRISTMAS! I'm pretty impressed with myself at keeping the number of pictures relatively low....

- Luke started sleeping through the night in his crib right before he turned 8 months and continued all through December!

- He grabbed Josh's face and said "Dada!!"

- He loves remotes!

- He pulls up and cruises around the Pack n' Play more and more.

- We got the red car out of the garage, that we'd been saving for him since a family from our church handed it down to us. He LOVED it and still plays in it every day.

- Toward the end of December, he started crawling at longer intervals before scooting and pulling himself.

- He had a great Christmas with lots of time with both of our families! So many PJ Masks and Mickey toys!! He loved his Owlette Car, Wagon, and remotes most of all.

- He started to get the hang of his sippy cup, even though Poppy loves to hold it for him. ;)


His 9 month check-up was on January 10th and here are his stats:

22lbs 4oz - 86th percentile
29 in. - 73rd percentile

Our Eighth Month with Luke

November 3rd, 2017 - December 3rd, 2017 

I am posting this super late because of computer/phone issues and November already feels like a lifetime ago in Luke-world. I will set it back for December 3rd but it's already January 1st! Ah! Here's what I remember through pictures:

- We put up our tree super early, (I know, big shocker) and Luke LOVED it.

- I'm not sure when he started crossing his feet all the time, but I found a picture of it near the beginning up there. ^ He does that all the time now! :)

- We got him an Owlette pillow because they did not have Gekko and he LOVED it! That's when we realized she really is his favorite.

- We finally got an Excersaucer at home and wow, what a lifesaver! 

- He started really trying to pull up this month and finally really did all the way in his Pack n Play!

- He accidentally got a hold of Daddy's starbucks straw.... and became obsessed.

- He started wearing 18 month clothes regularly (although the 12 mo still fit) and we switched to size 4 diapers.

- He said "Mama" for the first time on a Sunday afternoon at lunch at Mario's. I won't ever forget that day. :)

- He loves his PJ Masks book that makes noise and his rubber ducky for bath time!

- Luke had his first Thanksgiving! We went to Siler City, where he met my Aunt, Uncle, and some cousins for the first time. He also saw Grandma, Jimmy, and Bobby again. Josh was sick but at the last minute we drove to Amherst for dinner at Memaw's. Then on Black Friday we had dinner with Mimi, Poppy, Aunt Bekah, and Zac! Grammy, Grandy, and Aunt Chloe stayed with us to and from Georgia too!

- On November 30th we finally put him in his crib for bed time and let him cry it out (while also going in to check every 5-10 minutes). After about an hour he finally fell asleep and slept for 12 hours straight! Thank you, Jesus! He also napped the next day the same way and has been sleeping great ever since!!!
