Our 4th Anniversary "Power Vacation"

We closed on our house on May 31st and decided to go to the beach for our anniversary 2 days later. We only stayed Thursday-Saturday, but we needed a quick getaway.

On our anniversary, we went out to the Frying Pan for dinner in South Port. We ordered too much food and got ice cream after. :)

We went for walks on the beach, mostly looking for shark's teeth. :)

I loved bible journaling on our balcony. :)

Here are some more pictures from the trip:

There were a ton of sticks on the beach, just like when we were there for our honeymoon.

Our last morning before we left we went for one last walk and a runner offered to take our picture when he saw us struggling to get a good selfie. :)

I love taking trips with bubba. We had a great anniversary and not I can't believe we've started year FIVE. WHAT??

Our 3rd Anniversary Trip

Josh and I went to the beach for a few days to celebrate our 3rd anniversary!
We went to Oak Island which is where we went for our honeymoon and first anniversary! We also have gone with both of our families and love this beach.

This is the hotel that we have stayed in every time we come by ourselves. We love it!

Don't judge me because I have a selfie stick and I'm obsessed...

Our friends Jake and Lauren (who we hadn't seen in over a year!) just happened to be at Oak Island at the same time! One of the days of our vacations overlapped so we hung out at the beach, went to dinner, putt putt, and out for ice cream. It was so much fun!

Jungle Golf Putt Putt giraffe selfie ;)

The day after we hung out with Jake and Lauren we had to go home, but we had a fun short trip! I can't believe we've been married 3 years!

And of course selfie stick jumping pic...

Love him so so much!!!

June so far...

June started out with a fun anniversary weekend. We went to The Cheesecake Factory and Ikea in Charlotte! We decided that for anniversary gifts to each other we wanted to get furniture for our new apartment, so we went to look for ideas in Ikea. We had a really fun night and Josh bought me lots of picture frames. :) We were able to start a list of what we want to buy before we move on August 2nd!

Josh got me that beautiful bouquet of peonies for our anniversary and I went to meet him in Burlington for lunch on our actual anniversary, which was a Monday.  That night we went out to Outwest for dinner. Outwest Steakhouse in Kernersville is where we had our rehearsal dinner, so we've made it a tradition to go back every year.

I have had a lot of time off of work so far this month, with the break between the Preschool school year and the summer program. I have been cleaning our apartment and getting some rest before the summer gets very busy.

The second weekend in June we went sofa shopping and went to our new apartments in Burlington to measure rooms for furniture. We also went to see the new X-men movie, which was awesome!!

As I've been putting together pictures for this post I'm realizing that I really only have pictures from the weekends. The weekdays are pretty boring these days, now that Josh works everyday in Burlington and is gone from 7am-6pm. Anyway, the third weekend in June we went up to Roanoke to see Josh's dad for Father's Day. We spent Saturday shopping with his family and he got a new ping pong paddle for work. Then after dinner with his grandparents we went with Chloe and Matt to get shaved ice. On Sunday we drove back to NC, so we could see my dad for Father's Day as well and be back for a busy week.

Last week, the summer program at the Preschool started and we had a great first week! I'm excited to spend time with those sweet kiddos this summer. :) Yesterday, Josh's brother came to visit. We took him to Burlington to show him where we are moving! Josh took us to an awesome restaurant some of his coworkers showed him in downtown called Zack's. We went shopping and looked around lots of places and drove by our new apartments. Then we came back by High Point to take Matt by The Red House and eat at Tokyo Express. It was lots of fun.

I can't believe this is the last week of June! I am going to be watching the triplets all week this week and doing preschool. It will be very busy. I'm already ready for the weekend..

Here are a few more random pictures from this month:

June 2, 2012

Today is our second wedding anniversary! It feels like that day was forever ago. I still look at our wedding pictures all the time and I thought today was the perfect day to post a bunch and write down some things about that day. So here we go!

We had our ceremony and reception at Dewberry Farm in Kernersville, NC. It was a wonderful place to get married and it is owned and run by wonderful people! (My mom found them online and we had no idea that 2 months after we got married, Josh and I would be moving to Kernersville to live for the first 2 years of our married life!)
It was the perfect day! Sunny with a high around 75. ;)

My mom made our invitations and programs ^ with digital scrapbook paper that I bought here on Etsy. I LOVED them!

The beautiful and amazing Katie Welch came over around 8 that morning and started helping do EVERYONE'S hair. Once we got to Dewberry Farm she did my hair and it was perfect! She saved us from a few disasters. She was my J. Lo. ;)
My best friend and bridesmaid Meredith did my make-up. It was beautiful and just what I wanted. (She is amazing and beautiful as well!)

My mom, 3 of my bridesmaids, and I put together all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, aisle jars, and centerpieces. We bought roses from www.wholeblossoms.com and the rest of the flowers were from the farmer's market, my grandmother's yard, a sweet lady from our church's yard, and one of her good friends brought buckets full of blue hydrangeas from her yard too! (Shout out to my parents for completely emptying their fridge so we could store buckets full of blossoms!)

My bridesmaids were: my sister Rebekah, my two best friends Katie & Meredith, and Josh's two sisters Charity & Chloe.

Josh's groomsmen were: his brother, Matt; and his best friends from college, high school, and childhood Andrew, TJ, and Jeremiah.

The wedding started at 2 p.m. My pastor, Eric, married us in a sweet and simple ceremony. Just the way we wanted it.

Finally married! We were so happy. (and still are!)

We had lots of family and friends come to the wedding and I was so happy to have time to see everyone during the reception!

-- The food was made and prepared by some wonderful women from our church.

-- The song for our first dance was God Gave Me You by Dave Barnes. Josh and I just giggled the whole time and talked about how weird it was that everyone was staring at us while we danced. :)

-- We bought a cupcake stand from here and covered the edges with ribbon. The cake and cupcakes were made by another wonderful woman from our church. Can you tell by now that the people in our church are the best??

Hahaha LOVE Katie's face in this one ^

Bless you if you've made it through this whole post! June 2, 2012 was a wonderful day. It was also very very stressful. Josh and I were so grateful for the love and support from all of our family and friends, but we were so happy to just finally be married! And it's only gotten better since then. :)
