Walks in the Park

We've had unusually warmer weather this March, so we've been walking in the park in the evenings. It's been even better since Daylight Savings has given us more daylight. :)

I just love Spring!!!

Our Georgia Bryant Christmas

This past summer Josh's parents and two sisters moved to Snellville, Georgia - a town northeast of Atlanta. We left around noon the day after Christmas and drove most of the day to visit. We stopped a couple of times and of course had to stop at Josh's favorite place from college, Canes.

We made it to their house a little after 8:00 and after getting all of our stuff inside we opened presents.

On Sunday, we went to church and then had a pretty low key day. On Monday, we planned to go into the city. Josh, Matt, and I went to Del Taco for lunch. We've only ever been there once, when we were in San Diego, they don't have them in North Carolina. Then we went to Atlanta to go to the Aquarium.

After we had been in line at the Aquarium for a while, I looked over toward the Coke building and saw a box sitting on bench that I recognized. It was a Jane Drop box from Very Jane that I had seen on Instagram many times. The website is a boutique deal site and they leave these boxes all over, filled with some of the great merchandise they sell and then leave a picture and riddle on Instagram. When I noticed the box I checked Instagram and saw it had just been set up there about 10 minutes before so Josh, Matt, and I ran over and met a couple there from Jane. They told me I could take the box home and it was SO EXCITING!!!

After finding the box we got tickets for the Aquarium and then had time to walk around and see some of downtown. We went to the CNN building and walked/ran through the Olympic Park in the rain.

The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world and it was so cool to see their huge whale shark tank! My other favorite part was the dolphin show, which we couldn't take pictures of, but it was so cool!

We left the Aquarium and took a van cab to the Hard Rock Cafe and had a great dinner.

After a flat tire fiasco, we got going pretty late in the day on Tuesday, but we had a really good trip overall. I'm glad we finally got to see their new house!

XOXO

Christmas 2015

On Christmas Eve we went to the Candlelight Service at church with my parents and Rebekah. Afterwards we went to mom and dad's house for dinner and Christmas puzzling. :)

Rebekah, mom, and I all had matching pajamas this year. I tried to get Rebekah to take a picture with me in front of the tree, but she said I would have to carry her there. I dropped her.. but I got the picture. :)

We went home that night and watched The West Wing and packed for Atlanta and then went to bed. On Christmas morning we woke up at our apartment and I didn't take any pictures except this one of Gizzy with one of her new toys from her stocking.

After opening presents, we went to mom and dad's to eat breakfast and then headed to Raleigh for Christmas lunch at my Uncle Mike's house. I didn't take many pictures, but it was great to see all of my extended family! I did have to get a picture of me and Josh in front of the Christmas tree, because we have one from every year since we've been married.

We took grandma back home and got to see Jimmy! We love him! I'm so thankful for the way he takes care of grandma. I'm glad he's a part of our family.

We went back to mom and dad's and opened presents and had lots of yummy food.

Before Josh and I went home we played Bounce-Off with my parents. Mom gets a new game every year for Christmas, this one was really fun!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!
XOXO

Lighting of the Quad

Josh has been working at Wake Forest for a little over 2 months now. On Tuesday night (December 1st) they had their annual Lighting of the Quad event for students and staff. We invited my parents to come and were really excited to see the lights and get in the Christmas spirit, so when it raining Tuesday afternoon we decided to still go for it. We stood in the rain with lots of other people listening to the university's acapella groups sing Christmas carols, saw the lights, and ate cookies and hot chocolate.

Toward the end, we formed a circle around the quad and lit our candles. It was a really beautiful cold rainy night. :)

Maybe we can go again next year... if it's not raining. ;)

Thanksgiving 2015

This year we had a great Thanksgiving! Josh's family came up from Atlanta early in the week and stayed with us Tuesday night and then went up to Roanoke. Matt and Chloe stayed with us one more night and then we went up to Josh's cousin's house for Thanksgiving dinner.

The Panthers played that night which was so exciting!!! We watched it on Josh's phone after dinner and were so excited when they won!!

Some of us played Fibbage for a little while after dinner.

Beautiful baby Julia!

Then we took some group pictures! The whole family was there which was really special, since there are so many of us and now it's hard to get together with Josh's parents and sisters in Atlanta.

On Friday we went over to my parents house in the afternoon. Josh and my dad went shooting while my mom and I cooked dinner. Rebekah and her boyfriend Zac came a little later and we had a really yummy dinner that night. :)

We really enjoyed our Thanksgivings this year! Now onto all of the Christmas things. ;)
