My First Mother's Day

Mother's Day just happened to fall on the 6 week mark we'd been waiting for to take Luke to church. It was kind of nerve-racking but also exciting to take him for the first time, especially on this day. It was a good morning and I won "Newest Mom" and got to see friends I hadn't seen in almost 2 months. :)

Josh's family was in town for Matt's graduation from Liberty, so we got to see them on their way back to Atlanta. When Matt had come up a few days before, he got to see Luke for the first time.

We went to East Coast for dinner with my family and then went over to my parents' house for a little while.

Not only was it my first Mother's Day as a mom, it was my mom's first as a Mimi and Josh's mom's first as a Grammy. It was a special day and I'm so glad we got to spend it with both of our families.

XOXO

Gender Reveal Party

The day we told my parents that I was pregnant, my mom started planning a gender reveal party. We thought we'd have to wait for the 20 week anatomy scan (20 weeks starts on December 2nd), but Josh and I got too impatient and scheduled a 3D ultrasound at the beginning of my 16th week.

We had an appointment on Friday afternoon, where we found out we are having a boy! I was so nervous the baby wouldn't cooperate, and then so happy when he did. :)

It was VERY hard to keep it a secret until the party the next night. I didn't realize how convinced I was that this baby was a girl, until the ultrasound tech told us he was a boy! On the way home from the appointment I had to call my friend April, who has two boys, so I could get it out.

We decided to pop a balloon to make the reveal. My mom cut up tons of blue and pink hearts and Josh took both to the store to have the balloons blown up with blue tissue paper.

It wasn't a big party, we just invited our closest family and friends who live close to us. (Except for Josh's family who drove up from Atlanta.)

My mom, sister, and her roommate Caitlin worked so hard to make this party special. We felt so happy, excited, and loved. It was a great night. And now we can't wait to meet our baby boy sometime around April 21st! :)

XOXO

It's a...

BOY!!!
And we are so excited!

Our 4th Anniversary "Power Vacation"

We closed on our house on May 31st and decided to go to the beach for our anniversary 2 days later. We only stayed Thursday-Saturday, but we needed a quick getaway.

On our anniversary, we went out to the Frying Pan for dinner in South Port. We ordered too much food and got ice cream after. :)

We went for walks on the beach, mostly looking for shark's teeth. :)

I loved bible journaling on our balcony. :)

Here are some more pictures from the trip:

There were a ton of sticks on the beach, just like when we were there for our honeymoon.

Our last morning before we left we went for one last walk and a runner offered to take our picture when he saw us struggling to get a good selfie. :)

I love taking trips with bubba. We had a great anniversary and not I can't believe we've started year FIVE. WHAT??

XOXO
